Welcome to Trout Lake Resort
Cabin 7 is Open During Winter
At Trout Lake Resort you’ll find a small resort on a pristine trout lake.
You will be tucked away in the wilderness setting of the Gunflint Trail,
yet only 16 miles from Grand Marais and all that the shoreline of
Lake Superior has to offer.
Open Year Round
Lakeshore and Hilltop Cabins
Our lake shore cabins are steps away from the water, yet tucked in the trees to give you privacy. You can cast a line from the shoreline in front of your cabin, and you can bring your boat on shore.
Our hill top cabins are close to the lake with views of the forest and the lake. They are nicely spaced and have a wonderful “woodsy” feel.
Bring the Family
Kids love it at Trout Lake Resort. There’s a swimming area by the dock, a play area, and a fire pit for sharing the day’s stories. There’s also a sandy bottom beach on the east side of the lake. And, of course, catching fish is always a favorite! Children under age 3 are our guest.
Bring Your Fishing Gear
Rainbow trout are easily caught on standard rod and reel gear. If you like to fly fish (or have always wanted to try), this is a great place to do it. The Lake trout like to stay deep so gear to drop your lure down to 40 to 60 feet helps. You can also try your luck for Brook trout in the Kandunce river, which flows out of Trout Lake next to Cabin 1.
We rent boats and motors, if you need them. If you bring your own boat, you are welcome to use the dock.
